POLICIES

  • Cancellations are to be made within 48 HOURS before or you will be charged for the full session. We understand that pool heaters have issues, sickness happens, etc. However, as our instructors are paid based on lessons completed, we try and respect their time and ability to schedule another lesson in that place.

  • Before booking, we must have a Water Safety Agreement and Credit Card on file and a deposit must be paid.

  • Lessons are NOT cancelled for rain. Unless there is thunder, lightning, or downpour, the scheduled lesson will still take place. If your child is susceptible to the cold, wetsuits and rash guards are encouraged.

  • For pool parties, we require 1 lifeguard per 20 people in the pool area

  • For open water/ocean lifeguarding, we require 2 people at all times due to the unpredictability of the water

  • We require a non refundable deposit for lifeguarding parties prior to booking equal to 1 hour of lifeguarding. The deposit will be applied to your booking.

  • Children who are not potty trained are required to wear a swim diaper.

  • Lessons purchased in advance are valid for 1 year from date of purchase. There will be no refunds issued.

  • For ocean lessons: be aware that each beach has its own parking permit rules. If there is a fee, the client is responsible for covering the instructor’s parking cost

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What temperature should I set my pool heater to?
    • Pool temperatures are recommended to be at least 87 degrees. The ideal pool temperature to teach younger children is 90 degrees. The warmer the water, the more comfortable your child will be. â€‹
  • Do swim lessons guarantee my child will not drown?

    • No, swim lessons DO NOT make your child drown-proof. However, they will greatly increase their chance of staying safe in and around the water by teaching essential survival skills, building confidence, and improving body awareness.                                                               â€‹

  • Will my child learn to within a certain number of lessons?

    • Please note that there is no guarantee the student will meet any time goal.  Everyone learns at a different pace. If a child is rushed or pushed too soon, fears can be formed or enhanced.

  • What guidelines do you follow for teaching and evaluating swimmers?

    • Lessons and bench marks are structured to the American Red Cross Water Safety and Instruction Standards.

  • What ages of swimmers do you teach?

    • We start as young as 6 months old and go all the way up to adults!

  • What if I don't have a pool at my house?

    • Since we are a mobile company, unfortunately we do not have a facility to teach lessons. If you have a family member or friend with a pool that would allow you to have lessons at their pool, we are happy to accommodate that way

  • What months do you teach lessons?

    • Our main season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Weather dependent, we do lessons into September and October though! We offer lessons all year long in New York City though!
