About Joel
Joel was born and raised in New York City, with over 10 years of experience as a certified Water Safety Instructor. His love for swimming began during childhood summers in the Caribbean, where he developed a lifelong connection to the water. He works with swimmers of all ages—from infants as young as 6 months to adults—teaching beginners how to swim while also helping others grow and level up in more competitive environments.
Joel is an assistant coach for the McBurney Manta Rays swim team and the U.S. Masters Swim team, allowing him to work with both youth and adult athletes. He is especially great with kids and has experience working with children with disabilities, creating a supportive, patient, and encouraging environment for every swimmer. He is also currently pursuing a career in nursing, further reflecting his strong sense of care and responsibility.
